Dramele traducătorului în budoarul autorului – Cum traducem limbajul licenţios
Profesioniștii, dar și curioșii sunt așteptați miercuri, 28 martie 2018, de la ora 19:00, în Sala Perpessicius din Muzeul Național al Literaturii Române (Str. Nicolae Crețulescu nr. 8), la prima ediție a atelierelor de discuție din 2018: „Dramele traducătorului în budoarul autorului – Cum traducem limbajul licențios”. Este o discuție fără perdea despre provocările la care este supus traducătorul față în față cu limbajul licențios.
Ioana Miruna Voiculescu, membră ARTLIT și inițiatoarea acestei întâlniri, întreabă doi distinși traducători experimentați și curajoși, Luana Schidu (traducătoarea trilogiei „Jurnalul dragostei” de Anais Nin) și George Volceanov (cunoscut pentru isprava retraducerii lui Shakespeare cu expresiile obscene la locul lor) despre cuvinte tari, pudibonderie, cenzură și rostul lor în traducere.

Don’t Tell Mom
After years of hard work, Joe took his first vacation on a luxury cruise ship. In a deck chair, he recognized a former high school classmate, a long-lost friend from his old hometown.
He crossed the deck, seized the fellow’s hand and said: „Hello, Pete. I haven’t seen you in years. What are you doing these days?”
„I’m practicing law,” whispered Pete. „But don’t tell mom. She thinks I’m still a pimp.”
