Cuvântul „taught” este destul de des întâlnit în limba engleză, fiind forma de trecut a verbului „to teach” („a învăţa”). Până aici nimic deosebit.

Dar iată că apare „taut”. Se citeşte la fel şi se scrie de zici că noua generaţie încearcă să-i simplifice ortografia lui „taught”. De fapt, este un vechi adjectiv care înseamnă „bine întins”, „încordat”.
