Verbul a inciza este un neologism venit din limba franceză (inciser) și are două sensuri, care derivă unul din altul, deși se folosesc în domenii diferite. Se referă, în primul rând, la țesuturi organice – „a face o incizie; a tăia cu un instrument chirurgical” și este utilizat cel mai des în medicină.
Cel de-al doilea sens are în vedere activitatea de ormanentare a unor obiecte din lut, din piatră etc. – „a orna cu ajutorul inciziilor, a scrijeli făcând anumite ornamente”. Dintre sinonime, dicționarele precizează a cresta, a scrijeli, a tăia. Continuare »
A bride called to make a change to her wedding registry. It is common, almost expected, that a bride will change something on her registry at least once (dishes, color of towels, etc.).
The Customer Service Representative told her that J.C. Penney would be happy to make the change. He asked if the bride wanted to change the dishes or the linens.
The bride said, „No, keep all that. I just wanted to change the name of the groom.”
