Oacheşi fierari afumaţi, fripţi de scrum şi funingini, Moartea mi-o cheamă cu larma ciocanelor lor. Nimeni asemenea zgomot n-aude noaptea! Asemenea dangăt grozav de ghiorlani guralivi! Scălâmbi şi mahmuri, cer: „Mangalul; Mangal!” Şi suflă din foale de-şi sfarmă făptura „Huf, Puf!” face unul; „Hof; Pof!” fac fârtaţii. Scuipă, se-ntind şi deşiră poveşti sumedenii; Scrâşnesc şi trosnesc din măsele, icnind împreună, Încinşi de săltatul baroaselor groase. Şorţ din tovaluri de taure au. Şi pulpare drept pavezi, păzindu-i de para aprinsă, Straşnic trosnesc cu baroasele grele-ale lor. Straşnic izbesc pe ilaiele cele de criţă. „Boc, boc”; şi „Bam, bam!” bat cu rândul – Aşa tânguios tărăboi Belzebut să-l stârpească! Covaciul îndreaptă un fier şi mai ciocăne altul, Le-înţeapănă-olaltă şi ţiuie-o notă înaltă: „Ţic, ţic!” „Pic, pac!” „Pic, pac”; „Ţic, ţac!” Cioc, boc! Bam, bum! … cam acesta li-i traiul Acestor de gloabe cizmari – osândi-i-ar Hristos! Nici noaptea n-ai tihnă de fierul ce sfârâie-n apă. |
