A very large woman walks into a department store and asks a salesman, „Do you have anything I could fit into?”

„Well,” the man says, „I think I could fit you into that elevator.”

While at a marine-supply store stocking up on equipment for his boat, Jim also purchased an inflatable life preserver. „It was my wife’s idea,” he explained to the grizzled salesman at the counter. „She’s buying it for me as a gift.”

„Lucky you,” the salesman said as he started to write up the order. „My wife got me a length of chain and a cement block.”

John applied for a job as an insurance salesman. Where the form requested „prior experience,” he wrote „lifeguard.” That was it. Nothing else.

„We’re looking for someone who can not only sell insurance, but who can sell himself as well,” said the hiring manager. „How does working as a lifeguard pertain to salesmanship?”

John replied, „I couldn’t swim.”

He got the job.

A salesman was trying to talk a farmer into buying a bicycle, but was meeting with considerable sales resistance. „Shucks, I’d sooner spend my money on a cow,” said the farmer.

„Ah,” replied the salesman, „but think how silly you’d look riding around on a cow.”

„Harumph!” retorted the farmer. „Not near as silly as I’d look trying to milk a bicycle!”

A salesman came to Bill’s door, selling books. Now Bill’s wife is at work and Bill is usually the one who does most of the house chores. Well, Bill answered the door wearing his apron and the salesman goes into his sales pitch about how this one book he has would do half of Bill’s work for him.

Bill ponders this for a minute and then he says, „Are you sure this book will do half of my work for me?”

„Yes, Sir. Absolutely!” answers the salesman.

Bill said, „Well, in that case I reckon I’ll take two of them!”
