Do you know who I am?
One of the burdens of office of the small town mayor was his brother in-law, a fellow who liked to throw his or rather, his in-law’s political weight around. The mayor had instructed his policemen and other city officials to treat him just like they would any other taxpayer.
The brother-in-law got a ticket for overtime parking. He immediately descended in fury on police headquarters, waving the ticket and sputtering, „Hey, do you know who I am?”
The desk sergeant surveyed him calmly, picked up his phone and dialed the mayor’s office. „Tell the mayor,” he said to the secretary, „that his brother-in-law is down here and can’t remember his own name again.”

Cab Driver’s Name
The passenger noticed by the license that his cab driver’s name was Winston Churchill. Trying to make conversation, he said, „I see your name is Winston Churchill.”
The driver simply said, „Yep. That’s my moniker.”
The passenger, not willing to give up yet on some banter said, „That’s a pretty famous name.”
The driver responded with: „As well it should be too. I’ve a-been driving a cab here for over forty years.”

What’s Her Name?
A guy was invited to an old friends’ home for dinner. His buddy preceded every request to his wife by endearing terms, calling her Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, Pumpkin, etc.
The guy was impressed since he knew the couple had been married almost 70 years, and while the wife was off in the kitchen he said to his buddy, „I think it’s wonderful that after all the years you’ve been married, you still call your wife those pet names.”
His buddy hung his head. „To tell you the truth, I forgot her name about ten years ago.”
